Our engineering team thrives on a mix of collaboration and autonomy. We hire great engineers and then trust them to get work done without putting artificial barriers in front of them. Teams have control over patterns, technology choices, and deployment. Teams also own their own infrastructure, with support from a shared infrastructure team for things like our Kubernetes cluster. We have a robust product management function and ensure that teams always have something impactful to work on, while also making sure that engineers are able to contribute to our product direction. At all times we emphasize good engineering practice - we are building for the long-term and don't want to implement systems that we can't support.
Beyond this we try to be a fun and relatively relaxed place to work. We are fully remote and a lot of our team members are balancing their work priorities with family and other things that are important to them. We support this and put a lot of emphasis on avoiding over-work.
We don't hire for "culture fit" but we do hire for psychological safety; our goal is to consistently make sure that everyone that we hire prioritizes making space for everyone else that we hire to be at their best.
----------
Our interview process is a screening interview, followed by a take-home exercise (maximum 3-5 hours with a timeline fully controlled by the applicant), followed by a technical interview where you present your take-home exercise. We don't do any "trick questions" or whiteboard interviews, and we try to make the interview process collaborative and friendly.
Thanks for taking the time to look at us, and feel free to reach out with any questions before deciding whether to apply!
