Staircase is an open API Platform for the US residential mortgage industry. We aggregate, normalize, and transform existing data and services into mortgage-focused API products. Staircase APIs enable existing lenders, POS/LOS, and other mortgage players (e.g., startups) to leverage best-in-class data sources and capabilities through a set of clean, modern APIs that integrate seamlessly into existing technology systems. Staircase acts as a distribution channel for API-based companies, creating a single pipeline to lenders which cuts the sales cycle to zero while also reducing compliance burden by passing through compliance documents to lenders.

Our mission is nothing short of rebuilding the entire tech stack for US residential mortgage in order to make buying a home more accessible, more affordable, and less stressful for all Americans. Clean infrastructure will catalyze much-needed innovation in a space that has not changed in decades. Homeownership is the single most important factor for wealth accumulation, especially for low-income and minority households where the benefit of the Staircase platform and resulting innovation will be felt most.
