About the Role
As a UX Designer, you will partner closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and other key stakeholders. You will create alignment on problems to solve, develop high-level workflows, and lead strategic thinking for enhancements to our complex, enterprise platform. You will own all aspects of the user experience, including user research to ensure the solutions are providing value to our clients and using our design system to ensure consistency with the larger portfolio.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with product managers and engineers to craft a delightful user experience that aligns with strategic goals for JBS and other Elsevier products.
Conduct and collaborate on user research to understand user needs and inform design decisions.
Produce detailed design deliverables such as journey maps, wireframes, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes.
Ensure product designs meet user needs, support business goals, are technically feasible, and align with our design system.
Collaborate with designers across products to create aligned experiences.
Effectively communicate designs and user research data to key stakeholders.
Help improve design team practices and support other designers as needed.
Requirements: 4–6 years of experience in user experience (UX) and user research.
Proven experience as a UX/UI or Product Designer.
Advanced proficiency with design tools such as Figma.
Comprehensive portfolio demonstrating UX, UI design, and user research.
Deep knowledge of product design principles, user experience, information architecture, user flows, layout, and typography.
Skilled in conducting, documenting, and synthesizing user research.
Proficient in creating wireframes, prototypes, and iterating solutions using Figma or similar tools.
Fluency in English for effective communication.
Strong skills within a design system; visual or artistic skills are not required.
Familiarity with accessibility standards preferred.
Willingness to learn and adapt, especially in areas related to AI.
Strong collaboration skills and a proactive mindset.
Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and clearly communicate design processes and solutions.
