About the position
We are looking for a lead .NET Web Engineer who is passionate about programming, open source, and the web. This is a full-time position open to local, hybrid, and remote workers.
The primary focus of this position will be to use responsive UI frameworks, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C#, and MVC to build enterprise websites in Sitecore ( https://www.sitecore.net/ ), a .NET web content management system and multichannel marketing automation platform.
Successful candidates will be responsible for writing and maintaining domain-level services and models which adhere to application requirements and SOLID Object-Oriented principles. This process will include the addition of unit or integration testing and maintaining documentation. In addition to writing new code, you will occasionally need to research and integrate third-party libraries or solutions into existing .NET frameworks. A good understanding of Object-Oriented programming will be expected to understand and work with complex data sets and optimize some areas of code.
Alongside back-end development, you may need to expose or integrate your back-end work into front-end code. Although writing HTML, JavaScript, Sass/CSS will not be your primary responsibility you may be asked to do some light front-end development and work with our existing front-end engineers to craft maintainable solutions.
You will interface daily with Git and Gitlab as well as IIS and NPM on a lesser but still frequent basis.
What we value
We're looking for someone who shares our values:
Skills we're looking for
We need someone who is not afraid to work with complex domain models with lots of moving parts and who can think about the pros and cons of particular patterns or implementations before writing code. Ideal candidates would have 5+ years of experience writing modern Object-Oriented programming with a knack for relational databases. Your willingness to learn and try new things independently is critical to our success (but keep in mind you'll be working with a team). Strong written communication skills as well as the ability to present technical information in digestible terms. At the end of the day, we're looking for a great .NET programmer who can be an excellent collaborator and mentor.
