The Process Engineer liaises between Engineering, PMO, Operations, and others to ensure the product development processes and documentation are aligned with One Safran Develop, SST Engineering, and Seats USA (SSUSA) processes. This includes management of process documentation, communication of and effective change management of process changes, and development of process revisions or new processes as required. Process Engineer works under minimal supervision and exercises autonomy.
Work location: Hybrid with 2 days a week remote available, other work days onsite at the Gainesville, TX office location. Must reside within commuting distance from employer‘s Gainesville, TX office. Flexible work arrangements such as 9/80 schedule are available in combination with remote working
Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions):
A) Support and lead transformation and continuous improvement projects for SSUSA. These include projects from OEM‘s, Safran Seats Company, and Safran Group. B) Maintain a working knowledge of One Safran Develop processes and support education and training of the SSUSA Engineering team. C) Act as Business Process Manager for One Safran Develop process. D) Support and lead Data Intelligence and Analysis for Engineering KPI‘s and Metrics. E) Lead effective introduction of new processes using change management techniques. F) Perform other duties as assigned.

Communicate clearly and build strong relationships across the Engineering team, other SSUSA departments, Safran Seats Company, and with external customers/OEM‘s. Must have the ability to generate written technical reports and to operate required office equipment. Ability to read and review written communication. Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.
Ability to solve problems, think strategically, and demonstrate critical thinking.
This position requires extended periods of sitting while working with computers and viewing computer monitors and other office equipment. Finger dexterity needed in using misc. office equipment such as telephone, computer and copy machine, etc. Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to approximately twenty pounds are required during tasks related to the job.
Knowledge and Skills: i) Experience with initiating and implementing complex process improvements, including process documentation updates, training material creation, and change management. ii) Knowledge of seat design, certification, project management, and manufacturing. iii) Experience with Problem Solving Tools and Lean 6Sigma principles is preferred. iv) Experience in parametric CAD environment (preferably Catia), Configuration Management, Verification & Validation, and PLM system is preferred. v) Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Access experience is preferred. vi) Business Acumen with a high level of understanding of how Engineering, Operations, and Suppliers affect SSUSA financial performance. vii) Strong Critical Thinking skills required - Ability to understand the big picture and the cross-functional relation of all departments and disciplines within Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations, and optimize performance to improve time to market and costs.
Education and Experience: i) Requires a Bachelor‘s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline or 6 years related experience in lieu of Bachelor‘s level degree to meet the education requirement. OR Requires an Associate‘s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline and 3 years related experience in lieu of Bachelor‘s level degree to meet the education requirement. ii) In addition to meeting the education requirement, requires an additional minimum 3 years of product development experience with preference given to experience with Seats and Seats subsystem components, interfaces and their design/integration variables, within aerospace vehicles.
