As part of the Engineering Excellence team, you will proactively identify engineering and delivery gaps across all of Risk Tech. You will enable teams to put automation, testing and security at the center of the work and remove barriers to efficiency.
What You‘ll Do:
Lead, manage and grow a team of software engineers guiding the professional and technical development.
Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community
Proactively identify optimization opportunities in technology and process and develop a strategic plan to drive holistic, horizontal solutions that reduce challenges and toil faced by engineers
Drive prioritization, grooming and solutioning of enterprise initiatives, providing ready to implement solutions for teams
Identify strategies for accelerating our automation journey, improving testing and security.
Enhance our engineer experience through knowledge sharing, technical training and effective onboarding
Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity
Leverage data to optimize delivery across business and technology by identifying opportunities for continuous improvement with measurable outcomes balancing data with other factors in decision making
Act as talent magnet to recruit, motivate, mentor, and lead the best delivery talent

At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply)
At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
At least 4 years of people management experience
4+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service
4+ years of experience in open source frameworks
1+ years of people management experience
2+ years of experience in Agile practices

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.Location is New York City- $222,589 and $262,605 for Sr. Mgr, Software EngineeringLocation is Colorado- $188,636 and $222,548 for Sr. Mgr, Software Engineering
